You’ll notice some changes around how we’re managing our spaces, we’re doing our bit to help us all play it safe. Your wellbeing is our priority and we are taking steps to ensure your visit is a safe and welcoming experience.

WE’RE PROUD OF OUR COMMUNITY
Merivale is closely monitoring and continues to support the measures put in place across New Zealand to help manage the impacts of COVID-19. We’re proud of our community and the wider New Zealand team of 5 million for everyone’s efforts to date. Our focus continues to be ensuring a safe environment for our customers, our community and those who work within our centre. When visiting centre, we ask that you assist us in keeping our spaces safe for everyone by:
• Being safe and keeping a 2m space from others
• Avoid touching surfaces you don’t need to touch
• Coughing or sneezing into your elbow
• Practicing good hygiene, washing your hands regularly and using hand sanitiser
• Being kind, patient and taking care of one another
• If you are feeling unwell – stay home, get advice and get better, please do not visit our centre. We’ve made changes to cleaning and hygiene services and we’ve also increased signage and security to do what we can to ensure social distancing and other government measures continue to be observed by everyone. We will continue to monitor the situation and respond immediately if required.
CLEANING AND HYGIENE
We remain diligent in our cleaning processes and hygiene practises. We have placed an additional cleaning focus on key areas such as hard surfaces, food courts and bathrooms and have facilities in place to support our customers and retailers to practise good hygiene, such as increased hand sanitisers placed throughout the centre. We’re following the government guidelines and you’ll see an increased amount of signage throughout the centre to remind you of good hygiene practices.
While we are operating under Alert Level 2, we will be monitoring the number of people in centre using door counters, car parking numbers and visual checks. If social distancing is unable to be adhered to or the centre nears capacity, some entrances may need to be closed and a queuing system put in place for customers to access the centre. We’re following government guidelines and you’ll see signage throughout the centre to remind you to practise social distancing. Some of our stores may also limit the number of customers in-store at any time to meet social distancing requirements. If you are required to queue outside a store, we ask that you queue at a 2m distance and parallel to the store front, or as signage indicates to keep the common centre space as clear as possible. A few of our stores that operate in close proximity to customers (such as hairdressers and beauty salons) will require you to supply your details to assist with contract tracing before they can provide you with a service or product.

The Centre Management Team are here to help with any queries you may have. We’ve installed a safety screen at our customer service desk and reduced our staff numbers to ensure social distancing.
